Terms of Service for Coffervale storage VPS

The contract between you and DomaineGoat LLC when you rent a storage VPS from Coffervale, governed by the law of Panama.

Last updated: · 9 min read

Quick answer

What are the main terms of a Coffervale storage VPS?

Coffervale rents storage VPS for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months at a time, paid from a prepaid crypto balance, with no KYC. DomaineGoat LLC, a Panamanian company, is the seller; disputes go before the courts of Panama, under Panamanian law. We keep no backup of your data, and a disk is wiped when its server ends. Breaking the acceptable use policy leads to suspension.

1. Who you contract with

These terms cover the Coffervale storage VPS service, the website at https://coffervale.com and the customer dashboard. The service is sold and operated by DomaineGoat LLC, a limited liability company incorporated in Panama. In this text, "we" and "us" stand for DomaineGoat LLC, and "you" for the holder of the account.

Opening an account, adding funds or using a server means you accept these terms, together with three documents that form part of them: the acceptable use policy, the privacy policy and the refund policy.

2. Who may hold an account

  • Only adults, aged 18 and over, may open an account.
  • Residents and companies of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, China, Yemen and Western Sahara, and of the occupied regions of Ukraine, cannot order.
  • Nobody listed on a sanctions list may use the service, directly or for someone else who is listed.
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter a contract where you live.

3. Your account

You sign in with an account number alone; an email address is optional and serves only to recover that number. No KYC: no ID document, no selfie, no card and no phone number is asked at signup.

  • The account number acts as your password: anyone holding it controls the balance and every server on the account.
  • The account number is the only key to your account: with an email on file it can be sent back to you, without one a lost number cannot be recovered by anyone.
  • What is done with your account number and your SSH keys is your responsibility.
  • Nobody from our team will ever ask for your account number, your root password or your private SSH key, by email or in a chat.

4. What we provide

A storage VPS: a KVM virtual server sized for disk space rather than processing power, with 500 GB to 8 TB of HDD storage, its own kernel and root access over SSH. vCPU are shared processor cores; the memory and the disk space of your plan are set aside for your server alone.

  • Plans: Silt 500 GB $1.24/month on 12 months ($1.77 month to month), Clay 1 TB $1.66/month on 12 months ($2.37 month to month), Shale 2 TB $3.34/month on 12 months ($4.77 month to month), Granite 4 TB $7.53/month on 12 months ($10.75 month to month), Bedrock 8 TB $16.75/month on 12 months ($23.93 month to month). Specifications and terms are on the pricing page.
  • Storage: Every plan stores your data on hard disks (HDD) chosen for capacity, not speed: they suit backups, archives and file sync, not databases or heavy random reads and writes. We publish no speed or IOPS figure we cannot back.
  • Cities: Amsterdam (Netherlands), Bucharest (Romania) and Chișinău (Moldova): every plan in every city, at the same price.
  • Systems: Debian 13, Debian 12, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, AlmaLinux 10, Rocky Linux 10. Linux only: Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux. Windows is not offered.
  • Access: Root logs in over SSH. Paste a public key at checkout and password login stays off; leave the field empty and the team sets a temporary root password, shown in your dashboard, that you replace at your first login.
  • Management: Reboot, reinstall and deletion are requested in the dashboard and done by the team; a reinstall or a deletion wipes the disk.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars for the rental length you choose, as shown on the pricing page on the day you order.

  • We accept crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. Bitcoin is accepted on-chain; USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20); USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20). Monero and Lightning are not accepted.
  • You add funds to a prepaid balance, from $25, and each term is paid from that balance.
  • Send the exact amount to the address and on the network the payment page shows; a transfer on another network may be lost for good.
  • The network fee of your own transaction is yours to pay.
  • Each incoming payment is screened against public sanctions lists of blockchain addresses, and money from a listed address is never credited.
  • Rent for 1 month, 3 months (10% off), 6 months (20% off) or 12 months (30% off): a longer term costs the monthly price times its months, less its discount, rounded down to the cent (Clay: $6.39 for 3 months, $11.37 for 6 months, $19.90 for 12 months). Each renewal repeats the same term at the price of your order unless you pick another term for the next renewal in your dashboard.
  • A new price applies to new orders; a term already paid keeps the price paid for it.

6. Delivery

A person on the team creates your server once the payment is confirmed, so it is not instant; the dashboard tracks it until the IP address shows up. A term starts when the server is ready, not when you pay. If we cannot set a server up, it is not created and its price stays on your balance, as the refund policy says.

7. Terms, renewal, suspension and deletion

Each storage VPS is prepaid from your crypto balance for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, picked at checkout. Auto-renew bills the same length again at the price you ordered at, unless you switch the next renewal to another length in the dashboard. If the balance cannot pay a renewal, the server stops when its term runs out, its disk is held for 7 days and then wiped.

  • Renewing early: you can renew a server from the dashboard before its term ends.
  • Auto-renew turned off: the server stops when its term ends, with the same 7-day hold.
  • Coming back: a renewal within those 7 days restarts the server with its disk as it was; after them, the disk is gone.
  • Deleting: deleting a server ends it at once and wipes its disk; the unused days are not credited back.
  • Reinstalling: a reinstall wipes the disk and installs the system you pick.

8. Your data, our absence of backups

We take no backup of your server and keep no copy of your data anywhere else, so what sits on a Coffervale storage VPS should be one of your copies, never the only one. Disk redundancy keeps a server running through a failed drive; it does not undo a deletion, ransomware or a lost account, so it is not a backup. A snapshot sits on the same disks as the server it captures, so it can roll back a mistake but it is not an off-site copy.

You are responsible for the data on your server and for keeping other copies of it. When a server ends, deleted by you or left unpaid past its 7-day hold, its disk is wiped and nobody can bring the data back, us included. No one can bring back a disk after a reinstall, a deletion or the end of the 7-day hold.

9. Network, traffic and email

  • Each server has one IPv4 address and an IPv6 /64 on a 1 Gbit/s port, with a monthly traffic quota of 2 TB plus 2 TB per TB stored: 3 TB for Silt, 4 TB for Clay, 6 TB for Shale, 10 TB for Granite, 18 TB for Bedrock. Past the quota the port runs at 100 Mbit/s until the next period begins; nothing extra is billed.
  • Outgoing port 25 is shut on every server to keep spam out, permanently; mail providers stay reachable on ports 465 and 587.
  • The IP addresses of your server must not be used in ways the acceptable use policy forbids.

10. Acceptable use

The acceptable use policy is part of this contract. Forbidden on every server: spam or bulk mail, phishing, malware or botnet command, DDoS and other attacks, scanning or brute-forcing systems you do not own, booter or stresser services, carding and fraud, child sexual abuse material, cryptocurrency mining of any kind including proof-of-space or proof-of-capacity farming such as Chia, public seedboxes, publicly distributing films, series, music, games, books or software you hold no rights to, and any service to sanctioned people or companies. Tor relays may run on a Coffervale server, exit relays included. You answer for what you store and run on your server, and for anyone to whom you give access.

We take no action on DMCA notices or any other foreign copyright notice: Panamanian law and the orders of Panamanian courts are the only ones Coffervale follows. That is not a licence, since our own rules still forbid publicly distributing content you hold no rights to. Coffervale is a brand of DomaineGoat LLC, a company registered in the Republic of Panama, and it answers only to Panamanian law; each datacenter that hosts a server is bound by the law of the country it stands in.

Records are released solely when a Panamanian court orders it. The privacy policy lists the records that exist; connection logs, traffic logs and the IP addresses of visitors or customers are not among them.

12. Suspension

A server is suspended in two situations:

  • its term ends and is not renewed (section 7);
  • it is used in a way the acceptable use policy forbids.

Copyright notices from abroad, DMCA included, lead to no action; Panamanian law and Panamanian court orders decide. Spam, phishing, malware, botnet command, attacks and child sexual abuse material are banned and end in suspension. A suspended server shows as such in the dashboard. A server suspended for breaking the acceptable use policy earns no credit for its remaining days. To contest a suspension, write to [email protected] with the order reference and the server's IP address. You may stop using the service whenever you like by deleting your servers.

13. Availability

We promise no uptime figure. Maintenance, the datacenter's network and events beyond our control can interrupt a server. Beyond the filtering the datacenter network does on its own, no DDoS protection is promised. When a server stops working and support cannot repair it, the days it was down return to your balance. Plans, cities and systems may be added or withdrawn for new orders; a term already paid is not altered.

14. Disclaimers

We provide the service "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that a server suits a particular purpose, that a given read or write speed will be reached, or that a third-party service will accept your server's IP address.

15. Limitation of liability

Within the limits set by Panamanian law, we bear no liability for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the price of the current term of the server concerned. Nothing here limits a liability that Panamanian law forbids us to limit.

16. Indemnity

If a third party claims against us because you broke these terms or the acceptable use policy, you cover our reasonable costs and losses.

17. Law and jurisdiction

These terms, and the service they cover, are governed by Panamanian law. Only the courts of Panama may hear a dispute about them.

18. Changes, language and contact

We may revise these terms; the date at the top shows the version in force, which applies from that date to new orders, renewals and continued use. The English text prevails over any translation.

  • Support: [email protected]. A person answers support emails within 12 hours, seven days a week, including help with SSH keys, reinstalls and firewall rules.
  • Abuse reports: [email protected].
  • Identify yourself with an order reference (ORD-…) or a server's IP address, never with your account number. The contact page says what to include.
